Visual artists, illustrators and graphic designers share their stories about how AI is being used to lower wages, degrade work and even replace it altogether, in this instalment of AI Killed My Job.

I may give up too!
I have been talking to professional artists and hobbyists online & they basically agree with this. Even traditional artists feel it! It affects artists, graphic designers, authors, filmmakers, musicians and songwriters. The list is endless & that is just "the arts" industry. Artists spend hours, days, weeks and maybe months working on one artwork. Whatever the medium, digital or traditional, they put a lot of time, skill, dedication, not to mention passion, into it. Imagine all the years spent learning a skill at college or self-taught & then come to the realisation that someone with no talent or skill can write a text describing an artwork from their imagination & with a press of a button, an artwork appears in a matter of seconds? Do we, as artists, keep creating art regardless? Do we give up altogether? Do we embrace it? Will I keep this website for just another year, then sell my work at a physical marketplace once or twice a year instead? I love my space here, love creating, love editing but how can you compete with a machine? © Maria Murphy Art
